Our First BIG Sale!

So I was reminded today that Jonas' school will be closed for Spring Break in couple weeks, and that means I have no child care, so I'll take the week off from my full time job. And I thought, what a great time to do a final push for new images for my website! Which, by the way, is coming along FANTASTICALLY, I'm so excited for it to go live!

So here's the deal, all week while I'm not working my full time job I'll be doing FREE portrait sessions for ANYONE who wants one. The sessions will be about 30 minutes long and you'll probably have between 10 and 20 images to choose from. I have two new backgrounds I'm excited to play with, pure white and chroma key blue (BRIGHT!), and I still have the black background as well. You can come to my home for any of those, or if you'd prefer an outdoor session that's available too. The sample images you see above came from Tybee, Forsyth and Tom Triplett Park, but I'm open to just about anything. :)

And for the icing on the cake I'm offering a drastic reduction in my print prices! My current price list is in the process of being reworked, and unfortunately, since my lab has raised their prices, mine will be going up a little, so take advantage of this while you can! All prints 8x10 and smaller are going to be $12/sheet. Larger print prices will remain the same. Just to give you an idea of what a GREAT value this is, there is usually a minimum order of 6 sheets and if you didn't want to order that many Ala Carte sheets are around $35/ea.

Here's the fine print: All sessions MUST take place between April 4th and April 11th, 2009. There will be no sessions on Sunday April 5th. Orders must be placed before April 18th to qualify for the discounted print rate.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Mommy!

As you can tell it's been a while since I've been behind a camera, not that I haven't been busy. A full time job and a two year old will do that. But today I finally got to take some more pictures! I twisted the arm of a pregnant friend to do some maternity shots at Tybee and in her home. This one is my absolute favorite of the day, but I've posted a few more to our Facebook Album. If you are on Facebook check it out and be my friend/fan! If not, you can still view the album by clicking on the link to view our Facebook Page, where you'll find the album. Many thanks to Susan for putting up with me and my camera and to Mic for the great lunch!!

Great News!

I've recently acquired some new (to me) equipment! Lights and stands and all kinds of fun stuff! What does this mean? I'm basically a traveling studio now, so no higher sitting fees for studio shoots! I'm still working to see if I can fit a set up in my house, or where exactly it will fit, but it's progress and I love progress! Speaking of which, the website is still moving along and still slated for a spring launch. Be looking for more news on that as it gets closer.

More of the Twins!

They grow up so fast!!! These little guys who you first saw in the womb are now 6 months old, can you believe it?! This session was so much fun, I love this age group, they are so adorable and happy! We spent the morning at Forsyth Park here in Savannah, and just got so lucky with our color choices. BIG thanks to Mom for picking out such perfect colors. There are so many more that I love so much, I've put them up on our Facebook Page. If you're a Facebook member you can become our fan! Just search for RedAce Photographix; and even if you're not a member you can link to the album here. You can also find the link on the sidebar of our blog. Be on the lookout for our new website to go live this spring, we can't wait!

FAQ's

Well, the website is still a work in progress, a very slow work in progress. So in the mean time I've put some pricing information on the side of the page here, since that seems to be my most frequently asked question at the moment. Have another for me? Just email me! (red@redacestudios.com)

Tunnel Vision

The thing is, I'm a minimalist. I carry a small purse, with small wallet and only have 1 keychain with only the keys I actually use on it. This does not always mesh well with photography. Like the time I didn't want to take my whole camera bag onto the beach because I was only photographing my own child and realized once I got down there that I had no batteries in my flash. So I'm trying to be better about thinking what is necessary and sometimes that means having more. That said, I had this realization that while I've been posting sample photos to my blog I've been doing so with smaller images, so they don't take up so much space. And then I realized (why this took so long to realize, I'm not sure) that you can't always see them very well and truly appreciate their beauty when they're so small! So I'm going to go back through and start posting larger images so you can see what's going on, especially with the family group pictures. Just thought I'd let you know, I'm trying to think BIG about my little business and I hope you are too!

More Family Fun!

It was another fabulous morning at Forsyth today, this time with Wes and Wyatt (you remember them right? If not, scroll down a bit and then come back...I'll wait :)) and their maternal extended family. We had SO much fun! Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt and Uncles all came down from South Carolina for pictures so they wouldn't have to drive as far. As it is with many families Grandma and Grandpa are about to have an empty nest and wanted one last family photo before everyone went off to college/missions/military/husband & babies. Ana has three brothers and one sister, and as you can tell from these pictures, they are a hoot! I had a blast with them, especially playing out on the playground. As you can tell, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for the blog, they were all so good! A special "Thanks!" to Brendon who had to have some late senior portraits done as well; that's what happens when you don't take them with the rest of your class. He graduated this past June and leaves soon for the Marine Corps. My thanks to the whole family for giving me such a fantastic start to the day!
